barcode XX - water jet corten steel and concrete sculpture
Individual Corten "trees" set in concrete footings and spaced forwards and back into multiple rows. When viewed from the side or and angle, the work would look like a small grove of trees but when the viewer came around to the front of the work, the barcode would appear. From the front, the barcode would still be readable using apps on your smartphone (ie - Amazon app, etc) and would search for a specified product.
The work would symbolize the over commerciality of Nature, and the blended reality that we often view the landscape in now - our cell phones.
